Trucioli ai Funghi
This pasta was indescribably amazing! I have been thinking about it nearly every day since the last time I had it, it is that good!!! It is creamy, but not overly so, and the mushrooms just add a delectable umami flavor it it. Hands down the best pasta I've had in my entire life! This actually beats the pasta I had in Italy! No joke! The braised beef pappardelle is also very good! But the trucioli ai funghi is what pasta dreams are made of!
Pappardelle
This was an excellent dish! The meat was braised so beautifully leaving it very tender. The tomato and the beef made this a rich dish.. the homemade pasta was perfection.
Linguine al Pestaccio
Osteria Mamma is the best Italian restaurant in LA. From the service, to the authentic food, to the ambience, this restaurant never fails to provide an amazing dinner experience. Luigi is always such a pleasure to be served by, he always keeps us smiling the entire dinner! We love you, Osteria Mamma!
Trucioli ai Funghi
The flavors in this dish were so well balanced and robust, but not heavy. The lamb and mushrooms meshed so well with the red sauce and the type of pasta used was excellent for the sauce. Paired with the Bobba Rosa wine. Absolutely delicious! I highly recommend.
Tonnarello Cacio e Pepe con Tartufo
This is one of my all time favorite dishes. It used to be on the main menu but is now offered as a special. It's so decadent and flavorful that it NEEDS to be back on the main menu.
Tonnarelli alla Carbonara
Wow!!! I've been to Italy many times and I've been searching for an authentic Italian Osteria in LA that has the same quality and love that I've come to know in Italy...my search is finally over! Every bite from Osteria Mamma's dishes transported me back to Italy. The flavor and texture of the Carbonara sauce was perfectly emulsified with the right amount of starch water, parmesan reggiano, and egg, accompanied with the perfect chew of the fresh Spaghetti alla chitarra and heavenly salty delights of guanciale. But don't think their carbonara is the only thing great. Every appetizer, salad, main, and dessert we had stopped us in awe of its mouthwateringly taste.
Risotto ai Porcini e Tartufo
Amazing
Bigolotto Nero
Osteria Mamma is my girlfriend and I's favorite restaurant! Every dish we've had has been amazing, particularly the Bigolotto Nero and the Spaghetti Al Pomodoro (honorable mentions for the Spaghetonne and Raviolacci). From what I have been told a lot of the produce used comes from their own garden. There are plenty of options for those who don't eat meat, the bread is always consistent and delicious, and Luigi is the best! The wine options are varied and always great, and they even have their own brand of wine (which admittedly I have yet to try). There isn't a bad table in the house, and the atmosphere is always relaxing and comforting. It's fairly easy to get a reservation here, even last minute on a Friday or Saturday, which is a surprise considering we regard it to be the best and most authentic Italian food we can find. The availability of parking is fantastic for LA's standards, and if need be there is a valet. We will continue to come back here as often as we can for the most delicious, reliable, and affordable food this city has to offer.
Diavolina
Such good pizza! So well balanced and the perfect kick. Every dish is made with simplicity, balance and prime ingredients. A true gem and authentic italian food.
Ravioli
The butter sage and black truffle sauce adds a depth and richness to this dish, without making it too heavy or rich. The pumpkin amaretto filling is light and fresh, making each bite the perfect balance between sweet and savory. Absolutely amazing
